All Ages, All Skill Levels.

The long and short of it is...ice speedskating is a sport for all ages and skill levels, from the beginning novice through Olympic and world class speedskaters.

Whether you choose entry level skating, are looking for a recreational experience or a viable cross training alternative, or want a chance at the Olympic rings, speedskating offers unique developmental opportunities for athletic involvement and success.

OSSA News:

  • If you are interested in registering for CC#3 please see the OSSA entry procedure to ensure that you will be registered for the event. Entries are due to OSSA by FEBRUARY 19th.
  • Technical Bulletin #27.1 has been reposted to correct the broken link issue. - 02-12-10
  • There were errors with the ranking list posted February 2nd. A newly Updated Ranking List is now available:
    • Note:
      1. All skaters times have been updated.
      2. Check ranking list and please provide Jacky Shoebridge with changes necessary and birth dates that are missing highlighted in yellow for newer skaters that skated in the last two regional meets.
      3. Check O'Cup points listing and please notify Jacky Shoebridge of any corrections needed.
      4. Qualified skaters list for Ontario Winter Games will be posted after Christmas.

  • The final list of athletes and volunteers for the Ontario Games is now available for viewing. The selection criteria for the games can be found here.

  • The Ontario Cup Points has been revised and reposted as of January 4th. Please notify your coach if you believe their are any errors or omissions.

Other News and Opportunities:

  • In conjunction with True Sport, Speed Skating Canada issued a challenge at the 2009 AGM in Richmond to all clubs and branches to join the True Sport movement by declaring themselves a True Sport Club and Branch. OSSA has declared itself! Clubs are encouraged to make a True Sport declaration and submit it online at www.truesportpur.ca. Clubs declaring themselves True Sport will receive a package that includes a copy of their declaration.
